How do I setup the Rightmove Real Time Datafeed?

The Rightmove Real Time datafeed allows you to update your property data on Rightmove in real time.

New Property

If you put a a property onto the market, it will be sent immediately to Rightmove. Rightmove will then process it and add it to the site (this may take a few minutes).

You can check to see if a property has been sent by clicking on the Rightmove Link which will appear on the property page.

You can check if a property has been successfully added or updated by clicking on the Rightmove Link which is displayed on the property page.

Update a Property

If you make a change to a property, it will be sent immediately to Rightmove. Rightmove will then process it and add it to the site (this may take a few minutes).

A change might include:

  • Updating the property e.g. number of beds or the description
  • Adding, editing, moving or deleting a room
  • Adding, editing, moving or deleting a photo
  • Adding, editing, moving or deleting a floorplan
  • Adding or removing a PDF

Please note : The Under Offer property status is not a valid status on Rightmove for Lettings properties so we had to decide whether to upload such properties with a status of Available or Let Agreed.

In order for a Lettings property to appear in the Rightmove Let Agreed intel reports, it has to have had a status of Available on Rightmove for at least 24 hours.  In some areas it is quite possible for a property to be marked as Available and then go Under Offer the same day, sometimes within only a few hours.  We therefore upload Under Offer properties as Available.  Once the all the references etc have been received and the Tenancy is agreed, then the property will be set to as status of Let Agreed which will then be sent to Rightmove immediately.

The older nightly feed does send Under Offer properties to Rightmove as 'Let Agreed' because we only uploaded the properties every 24 hours so the time requirement for the report did not apply.

Remove a Property

A property can be removed in two ways, by the user or automatically.

  1. If you take a property off the market, it will be removed from Rightmove.
  2. If a property on the market period expires, it will be removed from Rightmove overnight on the date that it comes off the market.

Realtime Datafeed Log

Every attempt to create, update and remove a property will be logged in the Portal Realtime Datafeed log.

Branch Email Leads

Every 30 minutes, Domus will retrieve a list of email leads from Rightmove and add them as new Enquiries.

You can see the enquiries on the home page and in a new Enquiries list. For each enquiry you can:

  • View the enquiry
  • Add a viewing
  • Edit the customer (for example so you can assign it to a user)
  • Mark the enquiry as Complete or Incomplete

It's a great time saving feature, especially if you get a lot of leads from Rightmove.

Setup the Feed

You can setup the Realtime Datafeed by going to Admin, Portals.

You should also contact your Rightmove account manager so that they can configure your Rightmove account to accept a feed from Domus.
